Hogscald and Eureka Springs

Left Bentonville and headed toward Hogscald Hollow. We had a little trouble finding the swimming hole, but a local pointed us in the right direction and we finally found a good spot.
The water was actually pretty warm. Jumped off a little cliff — or probably more accurately, a ledge — and swam around for a while.
Then we headed to Eureka Springs. Funky little town. Super hilly, narrow streets, old Victorian buildings and lots of little shops and craft stores. It reminded me a little of an old gold-mining town.
Had dinner at an Italian place that was actually pretty good, then stopped at Local Flavor for a nightcap. Julia had a port. I had coffee and cake.
Now we’re at the Basin Park Hotel, which is supposedly haunted. Apparently haunted stuff is kind of a thing around here.
Tomorrow we’ll wander around Eureka Springs a little more, then start heading toward Kansas.
