Things are moving a little slower than planned. I’ve made this drive toward Iowa a bunch of times, usually on I-80, and the wind almost always seems to be helping on the way east and punishing you on the way back.
Not today.
I’ve had a pretty steady headwind most of the afternoon and mileage actually dropped to about 11.5 mpg. The 4Runner was shifting more than I liked, so I backed off the speed a bit and decided to just quit fighting it.
I’m going to keep pushing toward Topeka and see how I feel when I get there.
