Friday started with a swimming hole basically right around the corner from camp. Waterfall, rope swing and a ladder built up into the tree, so of course we stopped and jumped in.
Then the wheeling got serious.
Lots of rocks, water, mud and some pretty technical sections. At one point I buried the 4Runner in a mud hole badly enough that Jason had to turn around and winch me out. We dealt with downed trees, used the chainsaw to make a bypass around one of them, and spent a lot of the day crawling along very slowly.
I bottomed out more times than I can count. Thank God I put the skid plates on.
And then there were the spiders. Huge webs stretched completely across the trail, usually with a giant spider sitting right in the middle at windshield height. I hit hundreds of them.
Crazy day. Hard wheeling, but freaking fun.
