Pulled out at exactly 10 a.m. and, so far, everything is going according to plan.
It took about half an hour to get clear of Denver, and now it’s just miles ahead. First stop was a quick pee break and 10 gallons of gas. I’m getting 13.6 mpg, which is actually better than the 12 I was expecting with all the extra weight and the rooftop tent.
It’s windy, eastern Colorado is hillier than it looks, and the air is still thin, so I’m hoping this is about as bad as the mileage gets.
Henry is riding shotgun and seems pretty happy to be back on the road for another adventure.
